Participant feedback What does the training involve? Carbon Literacy Training has 3 parts. You will need to complete all of these to receive certification from the Carbon Literacy Project.Part 1: Online module (~90 minutes)The online module provides the core knowledge you will need to successfully complete the course. We recommend that you complete this course prior to attending the classroom session, but you can complete it at any time and return to it later if you would like to refresh your knowledge.Part 2: Classroom session (~3 hours)The classroom session is an interactive, discussion-based workshop that explores where carbon emissions come from and how you can reduce emissions as an individual, at the University, and across society.Part 3: Certification formTo receive certification from the Carbon Literacy Project you will need to complete an evidence form and return it back to us after the session. We will provide this during the training and explain how to complete it.Further learning: Biodiversity Literacy TrainingBiodiversity literacy is an awareness of impacts on biodiversity, and the ability and motivation to act positively to restore nature. This free course will examine why biodiversity is so important to our existence, explore key concepts such as ecosystem services and identify the main drivers of biodiversity loss.Foundational learning: Introduction to Sustainability CourseIf you haven't already, we recommend that you complete the Introduction to Sustainability. The self-directed online course takes approximately one hour to complete and covers the foundations of sustainability, what the University of Edinburgh is doing to reach its sustainability targets, and how you can get involved.
