The climate crisis defines the greatest challenges and opportunities of our time, and those of generations to come.

It is firmly rooted in global social, political, economic and environmental spheres, and requires immediate action at these complex intersections.

Combatting the intricacies of the climate emergency does not have a single solution, which in turn presents a multitude of ways for individuals to take action in tackling the climate crisis.

What is Sustainability Action Week?

Sustainability Action Week is an events and awareness campaign for students and is organised by the Department for Social Responsibility and Sustainability. The week features a range of events, workshops and activities in collaboration with student groups, partners and departments across the University of Edinburgh.

Explore what’s in store for Sustainability Action Week on our calendar below. Through this campaign, we aim to enable you to understand the power of the individual and the role of the University, inspire you to get involved, and empower you with the knowledge and skills you need to do so!

Saturday 2 April

Saturday Breakfast Club

2:30pm – 6pm

Volunteer with the Food Security and Sustainability Society to make healthy and sustainable Planetary meals for vulnerable members in the Edinburgh community. Open to staff and students.

Sunday 3 April

Image	Hike the Seven Hills	8am – 5pm You can join for part of the route	Keen to get outside, explore surrounding greenspaces and meet link-minded students? Image	Student’s Guide to Climate Action	4pm – 5:30pm	This event will feature youth activists, speakers and panellists who are leading the global push to tackle the climate emergency and provide insights on how young people can take action regardless of background. Open to staff and students. Thursday 7 April

Image	Student's Guide to Climate Strategy: What does a strategy 2.0 look like?	3pm – 4:30pm	This workshop is open to current students. Join the Department for Social Responsibility and Sustainability for the opportunity to help us explore what a strategy 2.0 could look like.
