Masters and PhD students: Present your research at an International Conference

The Conference

GAUSF is led by Peking University, and includes the following members: Tsinghua University, Guizhou University, Sichuan University, Zhejaing University, Stanford University, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, University of Notre Dame, Free University of Berlin, Kyoto University, University of Edinburgh and the University of Melbourne. 

Formally established in July 2014, GAUSF aims to enhance collaboration on sustainable universities across research teaching and operations.   

From 3-6 November 2016, Peking University will host the GAUSF Conference on "Conservation Science in a Changing World Developing Sustainable and Practicable Approaches to Conservation for the 21st Century." The Conference is co-organised by the GAUSF Secretatriat and the Student Conference on Conservation Science (SCCS).

The Opportunity 

GAUSF will cover round trip airfare (participants will receive a quota based on your institution location) as well as accommodation for a student from Edinburgh during the official on-site period of the program (November 3 to 6, 4 nights in total).    

The successful student will be required to write a short 500 word article on their experience of the conference, which will be shared on the University of Edinburgh's Department for Social Responsibility and Sustainability (SRS) website.

Availability

Michelle joined the University of Edinburgh in 2014 bringing nearly 20 years of international experience. Michelle is responsible for the organisation, planning, management and delivery of SRS programmes to deliver our strategies and commitments on climate change, circular economy, supply chains and community engagement. Prior to joining the department, Michelle was a Director in CSR Asia and worked as a consultant for the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and for the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and has consulted for numerous international companies and development organisations in China, Vietnam, India parts of Africa, the UK and Canada. She has served as a Director for VSO in China and previously taught on courses at the University of Hong Kong and at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT).
