Located at the Bayes Centre Courtyard, the Hub was hosted by a range of local organisations throughout August. Every Thursday, the Department for Social Responsibility and Sustainability hosted the Hub to promote our efforts towards sustainability and community engagement.

2-7 August | The Greenhouse Initiative | The Greenhouse will run events each day to support Fringe participants in their efforts to be sustainable, and someone will always be around to answer questions about festival sustainability. | |
8 August | University and the Community | Find out more about the University's work with the local community from our Department's Community Engagement Team. | |

15 August | How to be Sustainable | Do you want to live a more sustainable lifestyle, but are unsure how? Our Department's Communications Team is running a sustainability advice day. | |
16-18 August | Sustainable Shopping Weekend | The Hub will be hosted by local companies who are working to promote environmental and socially responsible shopping experiences. Participants include The Eco Larder, Social Stories Club, and One World Shop. | |
19 August | SHRUB Coop Takeover | SHRUB Coop is a local cooperative working for a world without waste! Join in with some hands-on repair and upcycling workshops, swap your preloved things and enjoy some rescued food. | |
20 August | Fringe of Colour | Today the Hub will be hosted by Fringe of Colour, a project aiming to support performers and attendees of colour at the Fringe. | |
21 August | Festivals Edinburgh | Help us reduce plastic waste at the Festivals! Come learn about a developing reusable cup scheme for the Festivals, and help shape the scheme so it works for both audience members and venues. | |
22 August | Engage with Sustainability | Engage with your environmental impact through sustainability games, led by our Department's Engagement Team. | |
23 August | Somewhere at the Fringe | A LGBTQ+ space celebrating our Somewhere At The Fringe campaign, discussing the highlights of this year’s queer Fringe and bringing together reviews, opinions, feedback and ideas as to how to make Somewhere At The Fringe 2020 even queerer! | |
24 August | Gratitude pop-up event | Can an idea of gratitude empower people to make positive change? Join us for an event looking at what individuals can do to make a difference through kindness, empowerment, joy and love. |
